Greetings...Had a great checkup this week...her 'numbers' looked good. Dr. Snyder pleased..even reducing another med or two...But, still gotta do the "blood clot-shot" for another month...The abdomen is getting it's share of needling...Becky takes it like a pro. She has been walking quite a bit around the house..up and down the steps with some supervision. Getting stronger..but still needs wheelchair for mall trips or other engagements and outings...such as Abbey's 'high school to be' had a welcoming party for those who will attend in the fall..Becky of course needed the chair for this, but what a delight it was for her to see some parents and kids she knew from Abbey's 'old' school who will be going to the 'new' school. She had not seen some of these wonderful folks in over 8 months. There was some trepidation on whether to attend the event, but the final outcome was an acclamation of success...So good for her to engage all the senses, and so good for others to finally see Becky and offer encouragement.
Mother's Day..Happy Mom's Day to you all...You mother's who do so much...We had a wonderful day. We ate out again! Abbey and I went to church, then dashed home and took Mommy out for a juicy hamburger..she was simply wanting a good burger...and she got it...it was so yummy to her..she couldn't eat it all, but she savored every bite, and you would have thought she was eating french fries for the first time. She was lovin' the fries. We had a great time just being out together. Didn't need a five star restaurant, though this restaurant has really nice booths, good service and the ice tea is her favorite...what else could ya want!
We thank God, We thank God, for these what were once considered 'little' moments, that now seem like BIG moments. I know that once life offers more normalcy, these BIG moments..will perhaps become only big moments..But, for now, we will run with the BIGS...
WE pray for Becky to keep getting stronger and stronger..for the blood clot to be totally dissolved within a month. For the Graft versus Host disease to never return..NEVER!
Driving is probably quite a few months away, but we pray that when this happens, the ol' 'it's just like riding a bike' is applied to vehicular maneuvering...
WE hope and pray all is well with you. Give thanks in ALL things..God can work out things for good to those who love and trust Him...It's so hard to see and ingest..so very difficult to see this when life seems like you are inside a rodeo barrel and the bull is relentless, and maybe sometimes the bull will puncture the barrel and be the 'victor'..but we have faith..yes, simple childlike faith, that the bull will cease it's repeated charge and we can get of the barrel for a period of time and lift our arms high in celebration, then perhaps get ready for another bull..
Much, much love to you..
Celebrate life...
Bill, Becky and Abbey...
