Thanksgiving and good talk...

Having some good 'talk' with Abbey...though we have had many, and I mean many over the past few years..still always nice to recognize it...Still good to 'get it out'...to take note of it..
Had a good Thanksgiving. Truly, truly thankful for family, and for wonderful caring friends, of course, so very thankful for the years with my beautiful, amazing, loving wife, for my sweet, thoughtful daughter and thankful for what lies ahead, to somehow envision and think about the new adventures awaiting, whatever they may be. So good to give thanks for all that is abundant in our lives..
Well, starting to hear Christmas songs in full effect..it's OK, for now. Most evoke good memories..sweet, pleasant stuff. Perhaps soon, start some decorating. The real touch, the handling, hanging of the family ornaments will perhaps present a challenge..most likely a bevy of emotions..but as I said, will go straight through it. We all know this time of year can cause many emotions to surface. I will embrace, withstand, be open to all of them and carry on.

Some days..

Some days just never know how what may transpire in the emotional room. Some days heavier that others..some days we press on with a lighter feel. As the hoildays approach, I know there will be some very sensitive, very reflective, emotional days, moments. But will do our best to think of the brighter moments..the really Happy Thanksgiving moments we had with family and friends..the beautiful, bountiful tables we shared with others..The travels here and there..The smells, the preparation, the warm aftereffect of having the traditional meal, and participating in both meaningful and playful conversation. Yes, will think of a multitude of warm moments..and think of how Becky used to love the holidays, especially Christmas. She loved the lights, the decorations, Santa, and of course, the real meaning.,,the birth of the Lord Jesus.
I know the music, which we both loved, will penetrate and move me beyond explanation. "It's the most wonderful time of the year"..will surely grab me and twirl my heart.."OH Holy Night" will stop me..OK, enough for now, I cannot believe I am talking about Christmas..Not yet..not ready...

Hope all is well with you and yours..As Thanksgiving is to be talked about, because it is almost here.May we all truly be grateful, thankful for the many blessings that envelope us daily..

Weekend...

Had a nice run/walk on the beach with Abbey this weekend...Good stuff indeed..
Good talks...I think there are days when she misses Mom more than others..like we all do when a loved one leaves this world ..Just have to be there for each other. Listen, listen, listen..and just be.
We keep running, we keep walking through the storms..we embrace the good, we seek peace...
