Getting right to it: Becky has quite a few blood clots in her 'PICCline' arm. The arm where we draw blood, infuse blood, meds, platelets etc..There was swelling around the line area on Friday..and then sure enough after the 'doppler' view, which was ordered by the Dr. during the regular visit (there is no such thing as regular or normal visit, we never know what's in store) he saw quite a few clots..as many as 12 possibly.. :0
Good news is! The two lines were taken out of her arm..the lines went to a major artery, they were just easily pulled out by a nurse. Yes, now all infusions will be done by needle. AND NOW, due to the blood clots, we have to do a shot each night for a month in the abdomen area. Yes, a month of shots..to dissolve these clots! Yikes! Becky and I will administer the shots! We were trained on how to do this..Yes, just call us.. Mr. & Mrs. Nurse..Of course, we pray this NEW med will rid these clots..They are nothing to take lightly. Not at all. We are thankful they 'stayed in place'.. So there you have it loved ones...discouraged again? Emotional? Yes. And always concerned about tomorrow..BUT, we just have to have the faith beyond faith, that we will get through this..or at least see some 'level life' come soon...We were told..this post transplant journey would be long..TWO years before we have some sort of 'clearance' pattern..if that makes any sense..Clear of that Graft Vs. Host disease and more..
Yes, it's tough to see all these meds..to see Becky discouraged..Abbey has been so strong and encouraging..She does not like to see Mommy endure such physical and emotional stress, but she knows better days are ahead. She could council young teens on how to cope with a life altering chapters such as these in your life...
OH! By the way..Becky is 6 months 'old'...Today marks 6 months from the stem cell transplant on October 9th...Happy Bday honey.. :) WE will continue to celebrate this 'bday'...
Hope and pray all is well with you..We do not give up despite our heavy, weighted hearts....We hope..we pray..We do know the Lord oversees all things..We trust...We trust...we carry on...We love Him no matter...
Celebrate life! Much Much love..
Bill, Becky & Abbey
Hello our loved ones! I am glad you had a wonderful Easter, we were thinking of you! We are really missing our Bible Study...any chance? When it is a green light, let us know! Just a time of praise and prayer would be wonderful. You know I am rejoicing that this to has been "caught" and is being dealt with. We are covering you with our prayers Becky, let those clots stay put and dissolve! Stay courageous, you are a living testimony to everyone who knows you! God has touched you with HIS hand, it reminds me of the glow of Moses as he came down the mountain. We don't get to see this miracles everyday, you are special!!
